Why we need WSPR?

As the emergence of service-oriented architecture provides a major boost for e-commerce agility, the number of available web services is rapidly increasing. However, when there are a large number of web services available and no single web service satisfies the given request, one has to "compose" multiple web services to fulfill the goal.

In this research, toward this problem, We have developed and implemented an AI planning-based web service composition algorithm, WSPR. The WSPR outperforms state-of-the-art AI planners in composing large-scale web services (in the range of 1,000 to 50,000) such as GraphPlan or Blackbox, and won the first runner-up award in ICEBE05 web service contest.

WSPR has been developed by Seog-Chan Oh as part of his dissertation work with the supervision of Prof. Dongwon Lee and Prof. Soundar Kumara. For more information, please contact Seog-Chan Oh (sxo160 at psu.edu)
