Welcome to the home of the PIKE
(Penn State
Information,
Knowledge, and
wEb) Research Group.
We study research issues involving the management of and mining in data in diverse forms (e.g., structured records, text, multimedia, social media, and Web), and their social or security applications. People seem to call such as (part of) Data Science,
Social Computing, and/or
Cybersecurity
these days.

For the Ph.D. admission in Fall 2026, I plan to offer 1–2 fully funded positions on the theme of "AI + Cybersecurity." Each award includes three years of SFS scholarship (i.e., full tuition + annual stipend of $37,000 + annual professional development of $6,000) plus 1–2 years of RA/TA support (i.e., full tuition + annual stipend of approximately $27,600). Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. If eligible and interested, please email me with your CV, or
apply
to the IST graduate program, and mention "Dongwon Lee" as one of
your potential advisors.
